VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -  Governor McAuliffe declared a special election in November for General Assembly seats that became open after the general election.

The election will take place Tuesday, January 10, despite the snow storm that affected the state over the weekend.

One of the vacancies is Republican Delegate Scott Taylor from the Virginia House of Delegates District 85.

Taylor (R) defeated Shaun Brown (D) in the congressional race for Virginia's 2nd district seat.
