Another round of showers, then bitterly cold….We’re tracking a few showers this evening and tonight. Then, our attention turns to some extremely cold weather that moves in for the end of the work week.

As we move through our Tuesday evening, we’ll see a few scattered showers moving in from the south with a frontal system. The rain is expected to move out late tonight, giving way to mostly cloudy skies and areas of patchy dense fog. Low temperatures will be in the lower 40s.

On Wednesday, most of the day will be dry under partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Late in the day, a strong cold front will sweep across the area from the northwest, ushering in some of the coldest air we’ve seen this season. In fact, highs will drop into the upper 30s by Thursday afternoon under mostly sunny skies. It will feel colder because of gusty northerly winds.  By early Friday morning, temperatures will dip into the teens! Yes, the teens! But because of the winds, it will feel like the single digits for some communities, so take your precautions. Don’t forget to protect your plants and pets. By Friday afternoon, we’ll see highs only in the low to mid 30s. At least we’ll see some sun, but the sun will do little to warm us up.

This weekend, we’re expecting wet weather. In fact, we could see some freezing rain early Saturday before it transitions to rain. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s this weekend.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy.  Scattered Showers (30-40%). Patchy Dense Fog. Lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds: E/N 5-10 mph.

Wednesday: Mix of Clouds and Sun. Breezy. Highs near 50. Winds: N 5-15 mph.

Thursday: Mostly Sunny and Windy. Highs in the upper 30s. Winds NW 15-25 mph, gusts to 30 mph.
