The First Warning Storm Team is tracking a temperature roller coaster ride this week.

A variety of weather happening over the next 7 days. Clouds will continue to increase overnight. We will actually see our low in the low to mid 40s early, with temperatures warming throughout the night. A warm front will lift north with increasing chances for showers. A cold front will also push through the region on Monday with some showers. Highs will warm to the upper 50s inland to low to mid 60s near the coast. The front will push southward Monday night and stall south. Rain chances will diminish by the evening with just a slight chance.

Cooler and drier air will move in for Tuesday. A slight chance for a shower, especially for northeast North Carolina.  Highs in the lower 50s.  Another cold front will cross the region Wednesday. Not a lot of moisture associated with this system, but keeping at least a 30 percent chance for an afternoon/evening shower. Cold air will move in late Wednesday, cold even see a few flakes mixing in with some rain.

Looks like conditions for Thursday and Friday will be dry, but it’ll be very cold. Many areas may not even make it out of the 30s!

Sunday night: Showers/drizzle developing late. Winds increase. Lows in the mid 40s. Winds: S 10-15 mph.

Monday: Rain at times, especially morning and early afternoon. Much milder. Highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds: SW 10-15, gusts 25 mph.

Monday night: Mostly to partly cloudy. Lows in the low to mid 40s. Winds: W to N around 10 mph.
