Two teens arrested in connection to seven shootings in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Police have arrested two local teens in connection to seven shootings in Virginia Beach, with two that have resulted in deaths.

Police say Thursday night they received anonymous tips identifying  possible suspects which led to the search of the teens.

With further investigation, police issued warrants for the arrest of two 17-year-old juveniles. Police say the two might have been connected to shootings that happened between November 29 and December 7 of this year in the Cardinal Estates, Chimney Hill, and Scarborough Square Park area of Virginia Beach.

Police provided a list of shootings they could be connected to:

November 29, 2016 Skylard Drive
November 30, 2016 Old Clubhouse Road
December 2, 2016 Homicide on Hawk Ave
December 4, 2016 Homicide on Campion Court
December 7, 2016 Dunnbury Court
December 7, 2016 Old Clubhouse Road.

Both teenagers are being held at Virginia Beach Detention Center without bond.

The first 17-year-old suspect has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, four counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and three counts of Malicious Wounding.

The second 17-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder and one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

Police say both suspect may face more charges as the investigation continues.

Elizabeth Stevens, the daughter of the homicide victim from the Campion Court shooting said in a statement to News 3 about their arrests:

“First, I want to give my coldolences to the family of Zacarias Aguilar-Ayala. I hope they find some closure as senseless as their loss was. Now, I would like to thank the Virginia Beach Police, everyone who worked on individual cases and whoever made the connection. And lastly, a thank you to everyone who cared, who misses my Mother or Zacarias.”
