Man arrested for attempting to rob the same Williamsburg convenience store twice

guillermo-martin-romero-jrWILLIAMSBURG, Va. – A suspect has been arrested for attempting to rob a convenience store twice in Williamsburg, according to police.

On December 7 around 9:15 p.m., Williamsburg Police responded to the Shell station located in the 1600 block of Richmond Road for an attempted robbery.

Wen officers arrived, the clerk said the same person from the December 4 robbery returned and attempted to rob the store a second time.

When the clerk refused to cooperate, the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No one was injured during this second incident.

Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Guillermo Martin Romero Jr. of James City County.

Mr. Romero Jr. was taken into custody around 10 a.m. on December 8.

Romero was charged with one count of Robbery and one count of Wearing a Mask in Public for the December 4 incident.

He was also charged with Attempted Robbery and Wearing a Mask in Public for the December 7 incident.

Romero is currently being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
