Tracking falling temperatures into the weekend….Get ready for a big temperature drop over the next few days. And with breezy winds in the forecast, it will feel much colder!

A cold front pushes through Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina today. A few scattered showers are possible, but we’re not talking about a lot of rain. Otherwise, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies. As the front pushes farther away from the area, we’ll gradually see our skies clear by the evening. Highs will be in the lower 50s. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with breezy winds. In fact, winds will blow in from the northwest between 10 and 15 mph, ushering in some bitterly cold weather. Low temperatures will be in the lower 30s.

On Friday, high pressure builds into the area, giving way to plenty of sunshine. But don’t let the sun fool you. High temperatures will only reach the lower 40s. Breezy winds from the northwest will make it feel like the 30s through the afternoon.

By Saturday morning, temperatures will slip into the upper 20s. But because of the winds, we’ll likely have wind chill values in the upper teens for some communities. High temperatures will climb into the lower 40s by Saturday afternoon with abundant sunshine.

Temperatures will warm back into the lower 50s by Sunday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. A few late day showers are possible in advance of our next frontal system into Monday. Highs on Monday will be in the mid and upper 50s.

This Afternoon: Good Deal of Clouds. A Few Showers Possible (20-30%). Highs in the low 50s. Winds: NW 5-15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Cold. Breezy. Lows in the low 30s. Winds: NW 10-15 mph.

Friday: Mostly Sunny. Cold and Breezy. Highs in the low 40s. Winds: NW 5-15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly Sunny. Cold and Breezy. Highs in the low 40s. Winds: NW 5-15 mph.
