YORK COUNTY, Va. - On November 21st, a man told Virginia State Police he had been carjacked by two men pretending to be police officers, according to court documents. Two weeks later, state police say it happened again.

On Wednesday, police put out a press release asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects wanted in a carjacking incident from Tuesday evening.

Police say two suspects flashed blue lights from their windshield at an innocent driver traveling down I-64 in York County, near mile marker 238.

When the driver pulled over, police say the two suspects, who were dressed in plain clothes, stole his car.

One suspect drove away in the victim's car, a 2017 Chevy Impala, and the other suspect drove away in the suspect car, a dark colored Ford vehicle.

But two weeks earlier, court documents uncovered by News 3 show another victim claims his car was stolen after two men dressed in 'dark police style uniforms' with 'guns on their hips' pulled him over on I-64 in James City County, 23 miles from Tuesday's carjacking incident.

The victim reported that the suspects also flashed 'blue lights' to get him to pull over.

Gerald Andress, a Norfolk resident, found the stolen car from the first carjacking.

“Between 11 and 12 o'clock, two vehicles pulled up in front of my house," Andress told News 3's Merris Badcock. "Two people got out of the vehicles, they walked around a little bit, and then they got in the second vehicle and drove away, and left the first one there.”

After the car sat untouched for two days, Andress talked to police about a suspicious vehicle in his neighborhood.

“When the police told me that it had been a possible carjacking on 64 it was just, it was just unreal,” said Andress.

Andress says he has no idea why the suspects chose to leave a stolen car in his neighborhood, but he noted his residence is close to the an I-64 exit ramp.
