Virginia Beach car dealership placed off-limits to service members

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – US Auto Excellence has been added to the off-limits list to all Hampton Roads service members.

The dealership is located on 3336 Holland Road.

According to a Navy spokesperson, US Auto Excellence was added to the list due to the dealership’s participation in unfair business practices and an illegal business practice known as “bird-dogging.”

“Bird-dogging occurs when someone refers a prospective customer to a particular dealership or salesman for a given fee or compensation. According to Virginia Law, only salespersons licensed to a dealership can assist customers with a purchase of a vehicle,” the spokesperson said.

The current off-limits list includes the following establishments:
