14-year-old arrested for ransacking Hampton family-owned farmer’s market

HAMPTON, Va. – A 14-year-old has been arrested in connection with the burglary of Wood’s Orchards, located in the 100 block of East Mercury Boulevard.

Wood’s Orchards, a family-owned farmer’s market, was robbed three times in September.

Between the hours of 4 p.m. on September 24 and 9:25 p.m. on September 25, suspects entered Wood’s Orchards while it was closed and ransacked the business. The suspects stole two guns, two tablets and a laptop.

Between the hours of 5 p.m. on September 26 and 8 a.m. on September 27, suspects ransacked the office of the business again, this time stealing food from the business.

A 14-year-old Hampton boy has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of grand larceny.

Police are looking for a second juvenile male suspect and have obtained charges for him for one count of burglary and one count of grand larceny.
