Blankets needed for homeless Winter Shelter Program in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Winter Shelter Program provides homeless individuals with a place to sleep each night during the winter.

Shelter space is provided by various faith organizations throughout Virginia Beach and the program is asking for blankets for individuals to use during the winter season.

To donate blankets, drop off new or gently used blankets (no comforters) to the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center at 1053 Virginia Beach Bvld., JCOC will also accept monetary donations.

Homeless adults in need of overnight shelter need to check in at the Day Support Services Center at 825 18th Street between 5 and 7 p.m. each night.

Shelter space is limited and is provided at a first-come first-served basis. Individuals are allowed to bring one bag that is able to fit underneath their seat on the bus or on their lap.
