Norfolk Police investigating late night shooting at McDonald’s

NORFOLK, Va. – Police are investigating a shooting that happened inside of the McDonald’s on 745 Newtown Road.

It happened on Saturday around 11:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his twenties with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

According to police, the victim and another man were arguing when the shot was fired.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived. He is described as a black man wearing a black shirt and brown pants.

There were no other injuries.

“We take the safety of our employees and customers very seriously and are working with the proper authorities to assist in their investigation,” said the Newlands Management Corporation, a local McDonald’s franchise organization.
