Car break-in suspects lead police on chase in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Four car break-in suspects lead police on a car chase on I-464 Tuesday.

Officers were called to Greentree Commons around 3 a.m. in reference to people breaking into cars.

The suspects were gone before police arrived, but a witness gave police a description of the vehicle.

An officer saw the suspect vehicle at the 7-Eleven on Military Highway and Georgetown Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, causing a police pursuit. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed onto Poindexter Street. There was no property damage.

The driver and three passengers were apprehended and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. One of the suspects is 18 and the other three are juveniles.

Police found stolen items from the car break-ins inside of the vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle was reported stolen from Virginia Beach.

Police are still investigating the incident. Charges are pending.
