WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Two Virginia farmer’s markets made a nationwide list of favorites, and one of the markets is in Williamsburg!
The national contest was done by American Farmland Trust and it rated some of the top farmer’s markets across the nation.
The Williamsburg Farmers Market ranked number four in all the categories taken into account. The categories were People’s Choice, Focus on Farmers, Healthy Food for all, Pillar of the Community, and Champion for the Environment.
The Williamsburg Farmers Market features 40 vendors who are focused on produce, prepared food, and farm related products grown or made in Virginia.
The market has been serving between 1,000 and 1,500 people on any given Saturday.
