1. Why are you running for office?

Since the Department of Labor is not getting the job done at present, I am running to provide new leadership to energize that Department.

2. Why should people vote for you?

My experience as Mayor of Raleigh for 10 years as well as my background as a lawyer provide the right qualities to have a strong Commissioner of Labor.

3. What’s your favorite thing about the area you want to represent?

The opportunity to help workers and employers that play by the rules.

4. What is the biggest problem your area is facing, how will you fix it?

The two biggest problems facing the Department are seeing to it that employees are paid wages that they are owed, and ensuring that employees are paid benefits to which they are entitled under law.

Experienced politician.

7. What do you do for a living? Why do you do it?

I work as an attorney at a law firm. The work is interesting, and it allows me to assist all kinds of clients.
