WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court has not decided whether or not they will hear the case of a local transgender teenager fighting to use the boy’s restroom.

Gavin Grimm sued the Gloucester County School Board in 2015 when his school stopped allowing him to use the boy’s restroom.

On June 23, a Federal District Court in Virginia ordered the Gloucester County School Board to allow Grimm to use the boys’ bathroom but the Supreme Court blocked the court order in August until they decide whether or not they will hear the case.

The ACLU tweeted about the case Monday morning, indicating that we will likely hear more by the end of the month.

The teen is not allowed to use the boy’s restroom at school until the Supreme Court decides whether or not it will take up the case.
