Sunday’s First Warning Forecast: Some sunshine, calm winds and highs in the 70s

The First Warning Storm Team is tracking another dry day with highs in the lower 70s.

Temperatures will warm today with highs in the lower 70s. We will see sunshine with some clouds in the mix. High pressure will continue to be in control heading into next week and we’ll see a warm-up with highs Monday in the mid to upper 70s with temperatures near 80 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will begin to cool again heading into the weekend. The next couple of days look to remain dry. Our next chance for any rain looks like next Friday and Saturday.

Sunday: Areas of fog to start the day. Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 70s. Winds: S around 5.

Sunday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid to upper 50s. Winds: S 5-10.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 70s. Winds: SW 5-10.

Tropical Update

Nicole is still a category 1 hurricane. Hurricane Nicole continues to move east-northeastward. Nicole is centered about 560 miles SSE of Cape Race, Newfoundland and moving E at 10mph. This motion is expected to continue with a decrease in forward speed during the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 85 mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Swells from Nicole will affect our coastline this weekend. Dangerous surf and rip currents are possible.
