VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia State Police (VSP) have taken a man into custody after a six hour standoff with police on North Streamline Drive near Air Station Road.

Troopers say the barricade situation ended peacefully around 11:30 pm on Sunday when Daniel Reynolds was taken into custody.

As the trooper was gathering the driver's information, he sped off from the traffic stop.

A pursuit followed and the driver fled to a nearby shed on North Streamline Drive.

The owner of the shed tells News 3 the man is a friend of his son's and that no one else is in the shed.

Criminal investigators and State Police's tactical team successfully communicated with the man, and the standoff ended after about six hours.

Reynolds was charged with reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, felony evade and elude police, failure to obey a red light and providing false identification to law enforcement.

A spokesperson with VSP told News 3 Reynolds has several warrants on file in Virginia Beach. He is being held without bond.
