Saturday’s First Warning Forecast: 60s with a mix of sun and clouds

A cool day on tap…Temperatures will remain a few degrees below normal today. A mix on sun and clouds as high pressure continuing to build in.

We could see some “nuisance” level tidal flooding at times of high tide today and tomorrow morning.

Temperatures will gradually warm heading into Sunday. Expect highs in the low 70s on Sunday. We will see a few more clouds mix in but rain chances will remain slim. Winds will relax today and tomorrow. Temperatures will continue to climb next week with highs in the upper 70s by midweek.

Today: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 60s. Winds: NE 5-10.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the low to mid 50s. Winds: E 5-10, then diminishing after midnight.

Tropical Update

Satellite and wind data show that Nicole has regained hurricane strength. Hurricane Nicole continues to move east-northeastward. Nicole is centered about 550 miles SSE of Cape Race, Newfoundland and moving ENE at 13mph. This motion is expected to continue with a decrease in forward speed during the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 85 mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Swells from Nicole will affect our coastline this weekend. Dangerous surf and rip currents are possible.
