Suffolk Police investigate after man shot Friday morning

SUFFOLK, Va. – Police are investigating an early morning shooting incident that left one person injured Friday.

Officers responded to the 100 block of North 5th Street around 1:20 a.m. on a report that a person had been shot.

Police located an adult male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

He received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was transported to a local hospital for additional treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
