Once the Westminster Congregational Church on Walnut Street is now a furniture business.

Five years ago, Sam Unruh took a leap of faith while his wife was pregnant with their first child. He quit his job and started building furniture full-time.
A year ago, he bought the old, abandoned church that was built in 1904. Preserving its original stone and stained glass, he gave it new life and a new purpose.
“It’s such a cool, unique building. We didn’t want to completely change the look and the aesthetic of it. We wanted to more revitalize it and bring it back to its original glory, but also re-purpose it to be able to manufacture furniture inside of it,” Unruh said.
Carpenters build and paint and stain, creating beautiful furniture surrounded by the beauty of the historic church.
