Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast

***Flood Warnings have been extended for most of the Southside and most of NE NC through this evening***

***River Flood Warnings remain for the Blackwater and Nottoway Rivers. Water is at minor flooding levels now and slowly falling***

Another flooding threat ahead… After a foggy morning, expect sunshine for most of today with a few clouds mixing in this afternoon. Highs will warm into the mid 70s this afternoon. We are tracking a cold front that will build through the area tonight. Rain chances will remain slim but the front will bring in cooler air and stronger winds.

As the front moves through tonight, winds will crank up. Expect northerly windy increasing to near 20 mph with gusts to near 25 mph for Friday. The stronger winds will trigger “minor” tidal flooding for Friday and Saturday. Highs will drop into the mid 60s on Friday, behind the cold front.

Temperatures will gradually warm this weekend, with highs in the upper 60s on Saturday and low 70s on Sunday. We will see a few more clouds mix in but rain chances will remain slim.

Today: A Few Clouds, Warmer. Highs in the mid 70s. Winds: NW 5-10

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Windy. Lows in the upper 50s. Winds: NW/N 5-15

Tomorrow: A Few Clouds, Windy, Cooler. Highs in the mid 60s. Winds: N 10-20G25
