First Warning Forecast: Tracking areas of flooding and warmer temperatures

***River Flood Warnings remain in effect for most of our inland rivers. Water is at minor to moderate flooding levels now and slowly falling.***

Tracking areas of flooding and warmer temperatures….Flood warnings remain for most of Southside Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina. River Flood Warnings remain for most of our inland rivers. Water is at minor to moderate flooding levels now and slowly falling. “Nuisance” level tidal flooding is expected during high tide late over the couple of days. Tidal flooding will be back in the “minor” level by Friday as we approach a full moon.

As for our weather, most of us woke up to temperatures in the 40s this morning, but warmer weather is on the way. High temperatures will climb in to the low 70s on Wednesday. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sunshine through the day. At times, skies will become mostly cloudy. A few isolated showers are possible under a northeasterly flow. On Thursday, highs will climb into the mid 70s under clouds and sunshine. A cold front will sweep through late Thursday. While a few isolated showers are possible, most areas should be dry. By Friday, high temperatures will settle back into the mid 60s under mostly sunny skies. By the weekend, temperatures will climb back into the low and mid 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy and Breezy. Lows in the upper 50s. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.

Wednesday: Areas of Patchy Fog. Then, clouds and sun. Isolated Showers (20%). Breezy. Highs in the low 70s. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.

Thursday: Clouds and Sun. Isolated Showers (20%). High temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.
