Virginia Beach Police hear gunfire, find one victim with gunshot wound

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Police responded to the 5800 block of Newtown Arch Thursday at 11:06 p.m. after hearing gunfire in the area.

When officers investigated they found one male victim with a gunshot wound.

Officials performed life saving measures to the victim.

He was then transported to a local hospital, according to police.

No other details about the extent of the victim’s injuries are available at this time.

There is no suspect information and police are investigating further.

This incident is the third shooting in the area in three weeks.
