CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The North Landing Bridge will closed to traffic beginning October 11.
Work will be done on the bridge to fully repair the damage sustained during two barge strikes earlier this year.
The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9 a.m. October 11 until 4 p.m. October 14.
The bridge will also close to commercial waterway traffic while repairs are being done.
Motorists can take Centerville Tnpk and Kempsville Rd as a detour while the bridge is closed.
Contractors are removing and replacing damaged gear racks and performing other structural repairs.
