Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in the Kings Grant subdivision on Tuesday.

The animal was found on West Lane and Kingston Drive.

The raccoon is deceased, according to the Virginia Beach City Government.

If untreated, rabies is fatal so officials say if anyone in your household, including animals, may have been exposed to wild animals in this area in the past few weeks to call your physician or the Health Department at 757-518-2700.
