CHESAPEAKE EXPESSWAY LANE CLOSURE : Chesapeake Expressway southbound at the Gold Star Bridge over the Northwest River

DATES: Tuesday, October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

INFORMATION: Bridge inspection and maintenance will require a single lane closure on the Gold Star Bridge over the Northwest River on southbound Chesapeake Expressway on Tuesday, October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGHWAY LANE CLOSURE : George Washington Hwy at the Long Bridge over Deep Creek

DATES: Wednesday, October 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

INFORMATION: Bridge inspection and maintenance will require a single lane closure on the Long Bridge over Deep Creek on George Washington Hwy on Wednesday, October 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

South Norfolk Jordan Bridge – Vehicle traffic briefly restricted at SNJB

Sunday, October 9, 2016 – 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.  To safely accommodate all pedestrian participants involved in the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge Walk during RIVERFest, vehicle traffic will not be allowed to access the bridge during event hours.

The guided walk led by Scottish artist Rob Mulholland begins at 1:00 p.m. All pedestrians remaining on the bridge at 3:00 p.m. will be rerouted to the Pedestrian Walkway to ensure safe passage and promptly restore vehicle access.

The Downtown Tunnel (I-264) and Gilmerton Bridge (US-13) are recommended alternate Elizabeth River crossings during this brief period. Frederick Boulevard North/I-264 East: Full ramp closure Monday through Thursday, Oct. 3-6 from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-264 East: Lane closures between Frederick Boulevard and Effingham Street Sunday through Thursday, Oct. 2-6 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-264 East/West: Lane closures between Effingham Street and Frederick Boulevard Monday through Thursday, Oct. 3-6 from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

  • I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Southbound October 3-4 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Northbound October 5-6 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-17 James River Bridge: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Northbound/Southbound October 3-7 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • I-64 High Rise Bridge: Single-lane closures as follows eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Eastbound/Westbound October 3-6 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Full weeknight/weekend closures westbound as follows:

  • Military Highway Continuous Flow Intersection, Norfolk: Alternating single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • October 2-8: Alternating single-lane closures northbound and southbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Military Highway between Valley Drive and Lynn Street.
  • October 2-8: Alternating single-lane closures eastbound and westbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Princess Anne Road, between Sigmon Street and the intersection of Military Highway.

  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Accomack County/Melfa: Daytime single-lane closures northbound and southbound in Onley. One lane will remain open at all times:

  • Route 301 Sussex County: Full consecutive closure for bridge replacement September 2016 through December 2017 on Route 301 between VA-40 and Route 642.
  • I-64 Widening Project, Newport News: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound October 3-6 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Jefferson Avenue and Fort Eustis, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times.   • Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.

 

 

  • George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays. NORTH BATTLEFIELD BLVD SINGLE LANE CLOSURE

Southbound North Battlefield Blvd right-turn lane at Medical Pkwy

Through October 15

 Continued utilities installation will keep the right-turn lane on southbound North Battlefield Blvd at Medical Pkwy closed through October 15.  Motorists should be alert to work crews, equipment in the area and possible delays.
