CHESAPEAKE, Va. –  WorldStrides OnStage has invited the marching band from Oscar Smith High School to perform at the TaxSlayer Bowl. They will join marching bands from across the country in the halftime show finale of the game to be played December 31st in Jacksonville. This is the second time that Oscar Smith High School has traveled with WorldStrides to the TaxSlayer Bowl and Contest of Champions.

Under the direction of Jack Elgin, who has been teaching for 38 years, the Oscar Smith High School marching band will travel to Florida where they will rehearse with the mass band and learn from nationally acclaimed adjudicators. In their free time, they will take in the sights of Jacksonville, Florida.

The 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl will feature a school from the Southeastern Conference vs. Notre Dame or a team from either the Big Ten or Atlantic Coast Conference. Last season, Georgia faced Penn State in the game.
