Shots fired at Accomack Co. deputy vehicle after bank robbery, three suspects in custody

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. – Shots were fired at an Accomack County’s deputy vehicle on September 26, according to Accomack County Sheriff Todd Goodwin.

The sheriff’s office received a notification from Pocomoke Police Department regarding a suspect vehicle relating to a bank robbery that happened in Maryland earlier in the day.

A deputy saw the car matching the suspect vehicle’s description travelling southbound on Route 13. When the deputy attempted to stop the car on Bethel Church Road, shots were fired at the deputy.

The gunshots disabled the deputy’s patrol vehicle and the suspects drove away, travelling eastbound on Turkey Run Road near Mappsville.

28-year-old De’Andre Breshon Ayres has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

21-year-old Demetrius Perry has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

23-year-old Lamond Perry has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

The investigation will continue and police say additional arrests are expected.
