***A River Flood Warning is in effect for the Cashie River near Windsor in Bertie County.  Major flooding is occurring. The river will continue to fall below flood stage by Sunday afternoon.***

Tracking a few more showers, then a little drier for the weekend….If you’ve been waiting for more sunshine, hang on! We’re tracking slightly drier weather for the weekend.

As we move through our Thursday evening, expect mostly cloudy skies. A few scattered showers are possible as a stationary front lingers across the area. However, right now, we’re not expecting as much heavy rain as we’ve seen over the past several days. Still, be careful out there. The water is slowly receding in many spots. Tonight, expect a lot of clouds and areas of patchy fog. A few isolated showers are possible. Low temperatures in the lower 70s.

On Friday, the front will start to show a little movement. However, we’ll still see a good deal of clouds and a few widely scattered showers. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.

This weekend looks a little drier. We’re emphasizing the word “little” because some of our forecast models are hinting at a little moisture trickling in as a cold front sweeps in from the north. For now, we’ll call rain chances at 20 percent for the weekend. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies on Saturday with highs in the lower 80s. On Sunday, we’ll see clouds and sun with highs in the mid 70s.  Next week, highs will stay in the mid and upper 70s.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (30%), Breezy. Lows in the low 70s. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.

Friday: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (25%), Breezy. Highs in the low 80s. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.

Saturday: Clouds and Sun. Isolated Showers Possible (20%). Breezy. Highs in the low 80s. Winds: N 5-15 mph.
