The city of Fountain Inn is honoring those who served our country by offering parking spaces for wounded veterans at all city facilities.

The parking spaces will be marked with a sign and purple lines.

Mayor Sam Lee said he heard about the program through Wounded Warriors Family Support, which provides the Purple Heart parking signs for businesses and cities.

“I felt it was a nice way to give back to the people who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and for our safety of our country,” Lee said.

During his tenure, Lee also removed all the parking spaces around town that were specifically reserved for the mayor.
