Artist’s Norfolk exhibition explores how technology affects community

NORFOLK, Va. – British artist Sarah Blood will have her culminating exhibition Between Further and Farther  at Work|Release starting September 15.

Blood is the recipient of Norfolk’s first New Energy Artist Residency (NEAR) program. The program is a collaboration with the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio, Glass Wheel Studio, the Rutter Family Art Foundation and Work|Release.

According to Amber Kennedy with The Meridian Group, the exhibition will be about people in our community are connected through technology, but disconnected in reality.

Blood will use paper airplanes to show the complexities of modern relationships.

The exhibition will use a variety of materials, including glass, metal, concrete, light, video and photography. It will also include viewer participation.
