Life after coma: Mother and daughter share their story of hope and recovery

It’s any parent’s worst nightmare.

Your child is clinging to life and doctors ask you if you will terminate life support.

Just nine months ago, Coretta Brown faced this crucial crossroad after her daughter was found unconscious in her dorm room having slipped into a diabetic coma on New Year's Eve.

Amber, a member of Norfolk State University's women's basketball team, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes during her freshman year of college.

Coretta stayed by Amber's side, nine hours from their home in Atlanta, Georgia.

April Woodard talked with both mother and daughter about Amber's miraculous road to recovery.
