Get ready for more heat and humidity to end your workweek. Highs will climb into the lower 90s. However, the humidity will make it feel close to 100. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds, with mostly dry conditions. We’ll see similar conditions heading into Saturday, with highs in the lower 90s.

Our next chance for some rain will come on Sunday as a cold front moves in. A chance for some showers and storms with highs in the upper 80s. Once the cold front passes, we’ll see highs drop into the lower 80s for the beginning of the workweek.

Tropical Update

We are tracking a tropical wave located 700 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Significant development of this system is not expected during the next couple of days. However, conditions could become a little more favorable for gradual development, and a tropical depression could form early next week while this system moves westward and then WNW into the central Atlantic.

* Formation chance through 48 hours: Low (20%)

* Formation chance through 5 days: Medium (60%)

We are also tracking an area of showers and thunderstorms located about 200 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. Right now, there are no signs of a surface circulation. During the next couple of days, the system is expected to move toward the west-northwest where conditions are not favorable for development.

* Formation chance through 48 hours: Low (10%)

* Formation chance through 5 days: Low (20%)
