Warmer weather is on the way….We hope you’ve enjoyed the break from the extreme heat because over the next few days, our temperatures are going up.

As we move through this Tuesday evening, expect rather comfortable conditions. We’ll see partly cloudy skies. Most areas should be dry tonight. Low temperatures in the lower 70s.

Tomorrow, highs will climb into the upper 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. A few scattered showers and storms could develop by afternoon and evening.

By Thursday, our highs will reach the lower 90s. And by Friday and Saturday, highs will remain in the 90s. A cold front moves in Sunday, giving way to scattered showers and storms and cooler weather on Monday.

A quick update on the tropics: Hermine continues to meander to our northeast just off the coast of New York.  The setup will continue to create rough surf, a high threat of rip currents, and some nuisance to minor tidal flooding around high tide today. As the system pushes farther out to sea and dissipates, those threats will diminish.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Most areas dry. Lows in the lower 70s. Winds: W 5-10 mph.

Wednesday: Partly Cloudy. A Few Scattered Showers/Storms Possible (25-30%). Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: NW/W 5-10 mph.

Thursday: Partly Cloudy. Much Warmer. Highs in the lower 90s. Winds: W 5-10 mph.

Weather & Health for Wednesday

UV Index: Very High

Air Quality: Good (Code Green)

Tropical Update

Post-tropical cyclone Hermine is showing its last bit of life as it meanders about 120 south of Long Island.  A decrease in forward speed is expected for the rest of today, followed by a slow and erratic motion tonight and a motion toward the northeast on Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50 mph with higher gusts. Additional gradual weakening is likely during the next couple of days, and Hermine may weaken below tropical storm force by Thursday.
