Tracking leftover wind and flooding, then much warmer weather….We’re still feeling some of the effects of Hermine as it continues to meander to the northeast in the Atlantic Ocean. This setup will continue to drive breezy and at times gusty winds along the immediate coast. We’ll have winds from the northwest between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts to 25 this afternoon. Winds will be lighter inland. However, with the rough surf and winds from Hermine, there is a high risk of rip currents at the beach. We’ll also see some tidal flooding early this afternoon and again late tonight. High tide at Sewells Point was at 12:25 p.m. today. We’ll have another high tide at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday morning. Some nuisance flooding is possible by then.  Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds. A stray shower is possible along the coast. Highs will be near 80. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 60s.

We’re headed back to school on Tuesday in Hampton Roads. We’ll start the day with temperatures in the mid 60s. By afternoon, highs will reach the mid 80s. We’ll see mostly sunny skies. On Wednesday, expects highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. By the end of the week, highs will be in the 90s under mostly sunny skies.

Enjoy our holiday!

Today: Partly Cloudy. Isolated Showers (20%). Windy. Highs near 80. Winds: N/W 10-15, G25 mph.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Lows in the upper 60s. Winds: W/NW 5-15 mph.

Tomorrow: A Few Clouds. Warmer. Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: NW/W 5-15 mph.
