Meteorologist Dominic Brown’s First Warning Forecast

Warm and comfortable for now, but our temps are heating up soon….Enjoy this warm, comfortable weather while it lasts because our temperatures are going up by the end of the week.

High pressure will continue to control our weather over the next few days, giving way to clear skies and a big break from the extreme heat. In fact, as we move through our Tuesday night, we’ll see mostly clear skies across the area. Lower humidity will make way for a great night, with low temperatures in the mid 60s.

On Wednesday, we’re expecting more fantastic weather out there. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low to mid 80s. Rain chances will remain low, even as we go into Thursday. Highs will be in the mid 80s. Our temps will climb to around 90 by Friday. Still, we’ll see a lot of sun.

By the weekend, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds. For now, rain chances are between 10 and 20 percent. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80s.

Tomorrow: Sun and Clouds. Warm but not as humid. Highs in the low to mid 80s. Winds: NE/E 5-10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly Sunny and Warm. Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: S 5-10 mph.

Tropical Update

A disorganized tropical wave approaching the Caribbean may become better organized over the next few days and grow into a tropical system. By Sunday evening it will be somewhere between the Bahamas and south Florida. On that path, it could be a threat to us by the middle of next week. Stay tuned.

Tropical Storm Gaston continues gaining strength in the eastern tropical Atlantic. Gaston is about 685 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands and moving WNW at 21 mph. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 65 mph with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is likely and Gaston should become a hurricane later today. As of now, Gaston is no threat to land.
