CHESAPEAKE – VETERANS BRIDGE (DOMINION BLVD) Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights. Expect single lane closures on the Veterans Bridge overnight on Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights.  Motorists should be alert to work crews, equipment in the area and possible delays.  For more information on the Dominion Boulevard Improvement Project visit www.DominionBoulevard.com.

VIRGINIA BEACH: Temporary Closure of Bells Rd for the next two weekends for utility work

Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that Bells Road will be closed to through traffic for two weekends beginning Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 7 a.m.  Crews will be doing utility work. The work will begin on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m., and again the following weekend, August 13th and 14th from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

ERT DOWNTOWN AND MIDTOWN TUNNELS, CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: Friday, July 29 to Friday, August 5

U.S. 58 East/Brambleton Avenue: Ramp full closure Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 2-4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

U.S. 58 East: Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, Aug.5 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 8 at 5 a.m.

 U.S. 58/ London Boulevard East: Off-ramp full closure Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1-4 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

 Frederick Boulevard North and South on-ramps to I-264 East: Ramp full closure Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 2-4 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

 High Street: Full closure between Constitution Avenue and Confederate Avenue from Monday Aug. 1 at 5 a.m. through Friday Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. for 24 hours a day.

HAMPTON ROADS WEEKLY LANE CLOSURES REPORT: For the week of July 29, 2016 through August 5, 2016

  • I-64 Widening Project, Newport News/York County: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound August 3 as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Jefferson Avenue and Lee Hall, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times.   • Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.
  • Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Full weeknight/weekend closures eastbound/westbound as follows:
  • Weeknights August 2-4: Westbound full closure from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Single-lane closures westbound. One lane will remain open at all times. Also, the 15th View on-ramp gate will be closed as follows:
  • Westbound August 3-4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • The 15th View westbound on-ramp gate to I-64 will be closed August 3-4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Southbound August 2-4 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • US-17 James River Bridge: Night-time single-lane closures southbound July 31-August 4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times.
  • I-64 High Rise Bridge: Single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Westbound August 1-4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-17 George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge: Both northbound and southbound intermittent traffic stoppage to last up to 20 minutes August 3 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
  • Mercury Boulevard on-ramps to I-64 Eastbound/Westbound, Hampton: Two on-ramps to I-64 eastbound and westbound will be closed as follows:
    • The on-ramp from Mercury Boulevard south to I-64 westbound will be closed July 31-August 4 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
    • The on-ramp from Mercury Boulevard south to I-64 eastbound will be closed July 31-August 4 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-564 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Night-time single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • I-564 Westbound August 1-3 from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. between Terminal Boulevard and Norfolk Naval Station Gate 3A & 3.
    • I-564 Eastbound August 1-4 from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. between Terminal Boulevard and Norfolk Naval Station Gate 1 & 2.
  • Military Highway Continuous Flow Intersection, Norfolk: Alternating lane closures northbound and single-lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • August 5: Intermittent traffic stoppages at the railroad crossing on Military Highway from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • August 6-26: Consecutive single-lane closures northbound and southbound on Military Highway.
  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Northampton County: Daytime single-lane closures northbound and southbound between Onley and Painter. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • August 1-4 from as early as 6 a.m. until as late as 8:30 p.m.
    • August 5 from as early as 6 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • US-58 East/West, Town of Courtland: Alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound August 1-4 from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. and August 5 from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m. One lane will remain open at all times.
  • Route 301 Sussex Drive, Greensville County: Consecutive left northbound lane closure for bridge replacement June 23 through late summer on Route 301.
  • Route 680 over Stallings Creek, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 680 over Stallings Creek for bridge replacement May 16 through June 2017.
  • Route 621 over Passenger Swamp, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 621 over Passenger Swamp for bridge replacement June 28 through June 2017.
  • George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays. CHESAPEAKE ROAD WORK:  Battlefield Blvd/Medical Pkwy intersection closures Monday, July 11 through September

Public Utilities will close various lanes at the Battlefield Blvd and Medical Pkwy intersection over the next 10 weeks for the replacement of water and sewer lines in the area.  Next week the right-turn lane on Medical Pkwy will be closed.
