Richmond, Va. - Whether it's their first, fifth or fifteenth, training camp is a grind for the players. Our News 3 cameras were there when one Redskin received a pick-me-up after another grueling practice.

After Washington's afternoon practice Monday, back-up quarterback Colt McCoy met-up with Fairfax's Tom Cranston. Tom, decked out in McCoy's number 16 jersey, says Colt has been his favorite Redskins ever since McCoy signed with the 'Skins prior to the 2014 season.

Cranston came to Richmond hoping to meet McCoy - and he did. The visit was worth it for both Tom and Colt.

"I wanted to shake his hand every single day," Tom said of Colt. "I was dreaming about it."

"To meet a guy like Tom, he stuck out to me because he's wearing my jersey, so that was the first connection," Colt explained. "It carries a responsibility with to carry myself the right way and be the example I've been called to be. It's always nice to see the fans and especially to meet a unique guy like Tom. That was really special."
