Three shot near Virginia Commonwealth University campus

RICHMOND, Va. - Two men and one woman were shot during a party near the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park Campus.

It happened on July 24 at around 2:44 a.m.

According to the school's website, Richmond Police responded to an aggravated assault in a private apartment at 1322 West Broad Street.

School officials say a fight broke out at the party and resulted in gunfire.

WTVR reports that all three people survived the shooting and two of the victims' injuries are considered to be life threatening.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and close cut hair. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt with a blue "Polo" emblem on the front and a blue #3 on the right sleeve, blue jean shorts with holes in them, red and white Nike Air Jordan shoes and a gold chain and gold watch.

The Richmond Police Department is in charge of the investigation. They have increased patrols in the area.
