Meteorologist April Loveland’s First Warning Forecast

The First Warning Storm Team is tracking extreme heat on Sunday. Temperatures will warm quickly today with highs in the mid to upper 90s. Once we factor in the dew points…we’ll have heat index values in the triple digits. Make sure you take the proper precautions if you are going to be outside keep yourself hydrated, and don’t forget about your pets! If you’re hot, they’re hot too. Winds will be out of the southwest, only helping to increase the dew points making it feel oppressive. A slight chance for a shower or storm in the afternoon, but for the most part, we’ll remain dry with a mixture of sun and clouds.

Hope you like the 90s, because they’re going to stick around through next week. A cold front will approach the area on Tuesday, with a chance for showers and storms, but won’t bring much relief temperature-wise.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Very warm and humid with lows in the mid to upper 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny with a few clouds in the mix. Hot and humid with highs in the low to mid 90s.  Heat index values in the triple digits. Slight chance for an afternoon shower or storm (20%). Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
