NORFOLK, Va. - All week long Downtown Norfolk is offering great deals on delicious meals for their summer restaurant week.

Gershwin's is a 1940's theme restaurant that opened up a little more than two years ago on Granby Street.

Since then it's become it's own type of getaway destination in downtown Norfolk.

"I think its just a little bit more of a time, a theme, a go back in time sort of theme," says Bernie Manning, the owner. "And the food is always great. We do hand crafted cocktails, we do smoked whiskeys. Everybody seems to really enjoy the bar but the food is very good."

This restaurant week they're offering a $25 and a $35 dinner menu for guests.

"Restaurant week gives us a chance to try something new and to try something new out on our customers and they really like it," says Manning.

The whole place is decked out with antique details from the music to the wait staff. But you don't have to dress to the nines to fit in.

"We want everybody to be comfortable here," says Manning. "We have our service and our staff dress up, but we say 'we dress up so you don’t have to'".
