Do you like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain?
No excuses needed to put your feet up and drink your favorite pineapple and coconut beverage because today is National Piña Colada Day.
Although there are many variations on how the drink was invented, we know that the tropical beverage originated in San Juan and has been going strong since 1952.
To make the perfect Piña Colada all you need are the following tasty ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup ice
- 1/2 cup diced pineapple, frozen
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- 2 ounces Coco Lopez coconut cream
- 1 1/2 ounces white rum
- 1 ounce dark rum
- Pineapple slices
Combine the ice, frozen pineapple, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and the white and dark rums into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour the drink into two glasses and top them off with pineapple slices on the rim. Enjoy!
