Meteorologist April Loveland’s First Warning Forecast

Tracking the heat, humidity and more storms….We’re starting to sound like a broken record, but we’re tracking more heat, humidity and storms. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, we’re tracking a break from some of the extreme heat by the second half of the weekend into next week.

High temperatures today will rise into the mid 90s, but because of the humidity, it will feel like the triple digits. Some of us might get some relief from a few cooling thunderstorms later today as a cold front approaches the area. Any storms that develop could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon.

On Saturday, we’ll see a good deal of sunshine as we go through the day. We’ll have to watch out for a few afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms as the cold front sweeps through the area. High temperatures will soar into the mid and upper 90s Saturday ahead of the front. Of course, with the humidity, it will feel much hotter! Behind the front, temperatures will take a break from the extreme heat. In fact, we’re tracking high temperatures in the upper 80s on Sunday. Then, next week, highs are expected in the mid 80s at least through midweek. Have a great weekend!

This evening: Sun and Cloud Mix. Scattered Showers/Storms (30%). Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Overnight: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (25%). Low temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Sun and Clouds. Chance of Storms (30%). High temperatures in the mid and upper 90s. Winds: W 5-10 mph.
