SMITHFIELD, Va. – Smithfield’s Town Council is currently looking for interest in the 174-year-old Wombwell house.  The selling price?  $1.

Why? According to the Daily Press, the buyer must pay to move the house off its current property.

The main reason for this move is due to future plans for a 37.2-acre sports complex that will feature five baseball fields, a football/soccer field and a 40-by-70-yard indoor facility.  Wombwell sits within these parameters.

The complex will be funded by a $2 million donation from Joseph Luter III, a $1 million donation from Smithfield Foods and $250,000 from Isle of Wight County, according to an article from the Daily Press.
