Norfolk - Taco, a chihuahua mix service dog, has been missing from his Norfolk home since Saturday, July 2. According one of his owners, Darcy Hendrix, Taco was stolen.

"You have to be a heartless person to do this to somebody. I just don't see a purpose," said Hendrix.

Taco disappeared from the Hendrix's backyard after the family let him out, just like they always do before they go to bed. Shortly after letting him out, they heard fireworks, which frighten Taco. But when they went to bring him back inside, he was gone.Veteran with his dog, Taco.

At first, Hendrix said she thought Taco was hiding somewhere. As she and her family searched the yard they came across his harness, which was unclipped and near the gate, which was slightly open. That's when Hendrix says she knew something was wrong.

"You have to be a heartless person to do this to somebody I just don't see a purpose."

Hendrix and her family searched their neighborhood, and called police. The day after he went missing, they put up missing posters, but so far, there has been no sign of Taco.

"I will give them whatever they want, I just want our dog back."

Not just because he is a beloved pet, but because Taco is an essential member of the family, especially for Hendrix's Navy veteran husband, who suffers from PTSD.

"He helps with PTSD, ya know with the everyday stresses that we all get but when it comes to PTSD you have a little bit more that comes with you," said Hendrix. "He fills the void."

Hendrix says she is willing to do anything in order to get her dog back.

"I just wish whoever took him would bring him back, no questions asked. I'll pick him up somewhere, I'll give them a reward. I just want him back in the house."
