Man assaults Suffolk officer during arrest

SUFFOLK, Va. – A man is behind bars after physically and verbally fighting with officers while they were trying to arrest him.

On Tuesday at around 10:20 a.m., officers responded to domestic assault call at a home in the 100 block of Lewis Avenue.

Police determined that 18-year-old Tory Oneal Tucker was the aggressor.

When officers tried to arrest Tucker for domestic assault, he pushed against officers and caused an officer to fall against a chain link fence.

Tucker was arrested on charges of domestic assault, resist arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and assault against a police officer.

He is currently being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
