Man charged with first degree murder in connection with Lankford Highway shooting

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. – The Accomack County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting.

Deputies have charged Tyqon Demetrius Robins with first degree murder, use of firearm in commission of a felony and discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle.

On June 24 at around 9:50 p.m., dispatch received a call about shots fired between two vehicles travelling on Lankford Highway.

Dispatch received a second call about a gunshot victim in the 14000 block of Nathaniel Street near Mappsville.

According to emergency dispatch, the victim was shot in his back.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 39-year-old Fardale Antonio Johnson.

Robins is incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.
