VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Hundreds of people have shared a Facebook post of a teenager after he was involved in a hit-and run Monday.

The crash happened at the intersection of First Colonial Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard. Evan Button, 17, says witnesses told him a car ran a red light and turned into his car. The driver then backed up, hit him again, and then left the scene. A witness took pictures of the car that hit him, a dark colored Chrysler sedan.

"I was kind of shocked," said Button, a recent graduate of Kellam High School. "I wish they would've stayed and just accepted whatever consequences came with that."

Police later found the other driver's car, but haven't made any arrests. Button says he had neck pain and had to go to the hospital for about six hours.

To get the word out, he posted on Facebook, and his post has been shared more than 300 times. "It's pretty cool," he said. "I didn't recognize that social media has such a strong power in it."

Button says there's about $1,500 worth of damage, but insurance is helping.
