Storms this evening, then a break, followed by more storms on Thursday….As we move through this Tuesday evening, stay with the News 3 First Warning Storm Team. We’re tracking a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms.  A cold front will slide through the area from the north. Scattered showers and storms will affect parts of the area this evening and tonight with gusty winds, hail and heavy rain, capable of producing some flooding. An isolated tornado is not out of the question. Most of this wet weather should move to our south and out of the viewing area overnight once the front pushes south. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.

On Wednesday, most of the day will be dry. While an early isolated shower is possible, most of us will see partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Then, late Wednesday, a few more isolated showers and storms are possible in advance of another cold front. That front will move through the area on Thursday, giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of those storms could be strong to severe as high temperatures climb into the lower 90s.

While a few lingering showers are possible early Friday, most of the day will be dry under partly sunny skies. Highs will drop into the lower 80s. By the weekend, we’re tracking a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the 80s.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (40%). Low temperatures in the low 70s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Wednesday: Partly Cloudy. Isolated PM Showers/Storms (20%). High temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Winds: W 5-10 mph.

Thursday: Partly Sunny. Scattered Showers/Storms (40%). High temperatures in the lower 90s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.
