Elizabeth City State University hosts federal employment workshop for veterans

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – A free federal employment workshop will be available for veterans on the Elizabeth City State University campus on Wednesday and Thursday.

The program is designed for all veterans, including transitioning military service members, their families and student veterans.

The university’s Veteran Center is working in cooperation with the Coast Guard Base Elizabeth City and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Veterans will learn about the steps needed to become a federal employee and how to create a federal resume. Experts from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management will help attendees understand the federal employment process.

Some of the agencies helping with the workshop include Disabled American Veterans Transition Service, N.C. Dept. of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions and the N.C. Division of Veterans Affairs.

The workshop is set to take place on June 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Information Technology Center on the ECSU campus.
